Omaimah Bamasag is a Professor of Cybersecurity with over 25 years of experience in
both academia and government. She obtained her degrees from the University of
Manchester and currently a research fellow at MIT, where she had conducted research
led to a patent in authentication in IoT. Currently, Prof. Omaimah is the Deputy of
Transport Enablement at the Transport General Authority in Riyadh, responsible for
advancing land, rail, and maritime transport through research, innovation, and human
capacity building. Prof. Bamasag is also a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global
Future Council on Autonomous Mobility, representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She
has held several academic leadership roles, and established the Center of Excellence in
Smart Environment at King Abdulaziz University, and now leads efforts toward smart,
sustainable transport in the kingdom
