Dr. Louai Al-Awami is currently an Assistant Professor at the Computer Engineering Department, and cross-appointed faculty with the Electrical Engineering Department, at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. He earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the Computer Engineering Department, at KFUPM, in 2002 and 2006, and his Ph.D. from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Queen’s University, Canada in 2013. Dr. Al-Awami is a member of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Intelligent Secure Systems (IRC-ISS), and a senior member of the IEEE, and his research interests include Internet of Things, applied artificial intelligence, wireless sensor networks, distributed storage systems. His currently serving as the coordinator of the Master Program on the Internet of Things and Embedded Systems, and has developed and taught many courses in IoT, RFID, AI, and smart systems; and has a wide experience in developing IoT-based solutions.
